4.Lend an ear when the bride wants to/needs to vent, no matter what the topic!Generally keep the bride sane during wedding planning.

5.Can help with addressing Invitations, choosing colors, cake, decor, attend the Expo...

6.Make sure the bridesmaids know where they need to be and at what time on the big day. Also, inform the bridesmaids about all pre-wedding events and parties.

7.Plan the bachelorette party with the other bridesmaids.Keep a record of all gifts and give the list to the bride for Thank You cards.

8.At the ceremony, stand next to the bride while she exchanges vows and hold her bouquet during the ring part of things.

9.Stand in the receiving line. May be announced with the Best Man.

10.Bustle the bride's train for the party. Also, help the bride change clothes for the honeymoon and take charge of the dress until the bride returns.

Planning a Fall Wedding?

Have you considered the fall for your wedding as opposed to a traditional Spring Wedding. My husband and I got married in December....and incorporated many holiday themes into the decor and catering. You could do the same for a fall wedding.

For one thing, a wedding during off-peak times, especially in late fall, can not only save you money, but it can also provide you with exciting venue options, dress choices and colors. Your options for fall wedding ideas are unlimited, and you can be confident that your wedding will stand out.

As far as fall themes and decor, take full advantage of the change of season. Ideas for a natural fall wedding would be to include real fall leaves and flowers in table decorations. Your bouquet can pop with blazing fall colors. And how about potpourri or fall wreaths as party favors?

As you choose a venue, let nature be your guide. Possible locations for a natural fall wedding include a park, an orchard or even a winery. Wherever you choose, make sure the venue has a good view of the turning leaves, and take the date into account. Leaves will change depending on where you live. Usually here in the Seattle area early October is a beautiful time of many colored leaves.

Also prepare for rainy weather if the ceremony will be outside. Before signing a contract with a venue, discuss alternate plans with the potential venue in case of rain, and find out if they can move inside on short notice. You could also make plans with a good decorating compny to provide tents, etc in case of inclement weather. (We do have enough of that around here in the Fall) To play it safe for an outdoor ceremony, arrange to have a sturdy canopy covering the ceremony area. Then invest in large umbrellas for yourself and your guests so they can move from the ceremony area to the reception area without getting wet.

Marci Jewelry Diamond Dash

Dear Friends of Brides Club,

We are writing to personally invite everyone to participate in a high tech treasure hunt for a $20,000 Lazare Diamond Ring hidden somewhere in Seattle. We have partnered up with the folks running the Marci Diamond Dash on Saturday, August 29th and we want to give everyone the chance to join in on the fun!!!

The Marci Diamond Dash is a city-wide treasure hunt brought to you by Marci Jewelry. In this high tech treasure hunt teams of two will be solving clues and riddles delivered to each team's cell phone via text message! The game is totally FUN and totally FREE!! Some lucky team of two will be celebrating at Jillian's Billiard Club (apx 1PM) with a Lazare diamond ring worth $20k!! The Marci Diamond Dash will kick off at the Seattle Center under the east side of the Space Needle at 10AM and teams will get ready to run, bike and dash around Seattle for a hidden $20,000 Lazare diamond ring!

So you must be thinking how can I win a spot to compete for a $20,000 Lazare diamond? Good question! Everyone has to sign up to play at http://www.marcidiamonddash.com/ to submit their story of why they should win one of the limited spots in the contest.

If spots are limited, how can I be sure to win one? As a member of the Brides Club community you are privileged to a keyword that will enter you in an exclusive pool of candidates. When submitting your story you must include the codeword, "DIAMOND09BC" to be placed in the special candidate pool.

When will I find out if I'm selected? You will receive an email confirming your spot within a couple of days. The contest will only be accepting entries until Thursday August 27th and by the nature of limited spots, the earlier you enter, the greater your chances of being accepted.

We are very excited to be a part of this event. We hope that a Brides Club community member wins!! If you do, you'll have to take us out for a nice candle lit dinner to thank us!!

Best of luck! We'll see you on Saturday, August 29th!!

Have you ever wondered?

The average wedding costs $18,874 with 186 guests.

The average second wedding costs $12,000,
but the couples spend nearly double first
time couples on their honeymoons.

In almost half of U.S. weddings either the
bride or groom has been married previously.

The wedding ring has traditionally been
worn on the third finger of the left
hand because it was believed that a vein
in this finger ran directly to the heart.

The third finger of the left hand has
become the customary wedding-ring finger
for all English-speaking cultures.

80% of brides plan formal weddings.

74% of all brides receive a diamond
engagement ring. 60% of women are
involved in picking out their engagement
ring, while 3% actually pick it themselves.

So You're Getting Married

I have some good news and some bad news.

First the good news: if approached correctly, married life will be the most glorious,
blessed, and rewarding time spent with another person. Words are inept at trying to
explain the love, the trust, and the respect that are developed in a successful marriage.
Happy marriages deepen and get better with time.

Now the bad news: if not approached correctly, you have a 50 percent chance of getting
a divorce. That doesn't count marriages that don't end in divorce but are not happy. So now what? Consider this question:
